I'm only a teenager! I'm discipling, too?!

Now that you know how important discipleship/mentorship, I'm gonna call it discipleship though,  is (if not go check out the post on www.emileeboster.com). You might be wondering who you should disciple or what you should do with them. To find someone to disciple, pray and ask God to show you a person. Ask Him to bring a person to you. Then, once there is a person that you want to disciple, get to know them. You can't just walk up to someone and begin to teach them life changing things. What may be life changing for you to hear may not be life changing for the other person to hear. After some time, this person will trust you and you can invite them to coffee to read the Bible and share things that you get from hat passage. Start small, just hang out and spend time together. Once that trust is formed, you guys will be talking about more serious things that relate more individually to your and her life. That probably seems really complicated but it's actually just like friendship except you're leading them closer to God in a way friends could not.

Side Note: You also might be thinking, "Kiki, I want to disciple someone and I'm praying by there's no one I can think of!" Discipleship doesn't have to be with someone your age. If you're in highschool, it would probably be best to teach a middle schooler. This way you have more experience in what they're going through.

Once, God has lead you to a person, it's hard to know what to do with someone when you don't know them like a friend or you are different ages but here are a few things you can try.

 Read a book together.

Go to a Christian concert or movie.

Meet up for lunch and just talk. It might be awkward but you'll eventually get into the swing of things.

Find something you both like to do... and do it!

Text each other everyday. Send encouraging prayers or little memos!

Obviously, nothing you can do will change a person's heart. So continuously pray for the girl you are discipling. Don't only ask for opportunities to get to know her but opportunities for her life to be changed!

I hope this helps your discipling journeys! Also, here's a verse that you've probably heard that I really want to leave with you guys before you stop reading. “Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28:19-20

What are you waiting for? Just because you're young doesn't mean you can't make a disciple. It's what God wants to do! Stop waiting, take a deep breath, stand up, and find whoever it is you feel lead to disciple! I believe in you :)

          Much love, Kiki :D
