Surprise! Surprise! Let's start off by reading Ruth 4!
Now that you've read it, there's something I think is really cool. Ruth and Naomi originally thought that it would be the two of them against the world. They didn't think it would be a pleasant experience because neither of them were married or wealthy. They were both widows, which made it harder for them to marry, especially Naomi, since she was much older. Naomi at least wanted Ruth to be happy and get married again so that they could continue the family and earn enough money to comfortably live. She would be happy when Ruth could be content.
After working in the fields and meeting Boaz, Ruth actually has a chance to marry. Boaz was someone that she was eligible to marry and also interested in marrying her.
This all seems fine and dandy until there is someone else who has the first choice on whether he wants to marry Ruth or not. Once again, there is another stumbling block in the road and this time there wasn't really anything Ruth could do about it. She just had to trust that God knew what He was doing when she became a widow and left the world that she knew. Ruth had to trust that whatever happened would work for her good.
Guess what? Ruth marries Boaz and has a child and is told that she would be apart of family lineage that will be very important. This family lineage includes our favorite person, Jesus!
I'm so impressed by this because it shows that a seemingly average person can do above average things with their life. That's exactly what Ruth did. She was just a widow but then married and birthed a child, Obed (if you're curious 🤓), and became part of Jesus' lineage. She even is one of the two women in the Bible to get a book named after her. This just shows how God uses the ordinary to do the extraordinary.
Whenever you doubt your worth or God's ability to use your life for good, remember Ruth. She did not have a perfect life but God used her to reach perfection, Jesus.
If there's anything I want you guys to know, it's this. God doesn't choose your best friend or your parents or your siblings to do amazing things. I'm not saying they won't but He specifically chose YOU to do amazing things, too. What you do might be different but that's okay. It might be hard or scary or life-changing to only one. That doesn't matter. God will use you through that. And don't doubt it because God will definitely use you. I mean you, yes, you make Him happy. He wants to make you happy and others happy from His presence and power, too.
I have one question for you today. It might seem vague but answer it however you see fit. Are you trusting God?
Bye guys! Thank you so much for joining me on this series! I hope you learned something :)
Peace out ✌️Kiki
